Abstract

In recent years, developments such as increasingly competitive environments, globalization, rapid growth of technology, increased complexity of networks in the supply chain and shortening of the product lifecycle have led companies to overview supply chain strategies. Therefore, companies that want to compete in these conditions must effectively and efficiently manage their supply chains. In order to manage the supply chain effectively, real-time information sharing and coordination among supply chain partners arerequired. Productive and efficient operation of activities such as organization of purchase, production and distribution processes in the supply chain process, management of stock investments, improvement of connections with suppliers, rapid retrieval of customer feedback and quick response to requests will be possible by menas of the digitalization of traditional supply chains. In this study, it is aimed to explain the general structure of the digital supply chain, which makes the supply chain activities of companies easier and more efficient. For this purpose, a general literature review was conducted on the general structure of the digital supply chain, the relationship with the industry 4.0, the transformation from the traditional supply chain to the digital supply chain, the basic characteristics, features and benefitsof the digital supply chain. In addition, the importance in the digital supply chain of the internet of things and cloud computing was  examined.
