Abstract

This research aims to determine the effects of tourism on the support of tourism development and the mediating role of quality of life in the relationship between them. The population of the research consists of the local people living in Amasra. In this context, data were collected from the locals living in Amasra between 27 December 2022 and 14 January 2023 by survey technique. Data were analyzed over 364 samples. Confirmatory factor analysis, path analysis and mediation analysis were performed using SPSS and Smart PLS package programs. As a result of the research, it has been determined that tourism has a significant and positive impact on the quality of life of the local people and support for tourism development. Furthermore, the quality of life of the local people has a partial mediating role between the effects of tourism and support for tourism development. In line with the findings, suggestions were presented to the sector and policymakers.
