Abstract

Although the contribution of specialization or diversification in export products has been widely discussed in recent times, it is noteworthy that there has been no clarity in the theoretical and practical studies on this subject and the fact that there are different studies on the advantageous aspects of specialization or diversification is remarkable.

In this study where the impact of specialization or diversification on Turkey's exports in the Level-2 regions on per capita income, it was determined that specialization provides positive contribution to per capita income. In addition, the Herfindahl index was used to determine the degree of specialization in export products at the regional level and the presence of specialization in export products in general was determined.
