Abstract
Industry revolutions from Industry 1.0 to Industry 4.0 have brought with it the ways of doing business in business life, professional content, differentiation in social and cultural life, working times, changes in the interests and demands of the employee. With Industry 4.0, the most important issues in business life are: smart systems, internet of things, artificial intelligence, robots, cyber physical systems, 3D printers, big data, cloud computing, simulation, virtual reality. These are the systems that contain new occupational groups where the employees, especially the blue-collar employees, can be unemployed and robots will be preferred in working life instead of human. These systems encourage highlighting competencies such as intellectual accumulation and creativity. Among the effects of Industry 4.0; Part-time work, flexible work, offering more social work environments to employees, focusing on competencies, emerging more productive work areas, changing recruitment processes attract attention. The idea that employers would prefer to work with robots to increase efficiency is becoming widespread. The way of digital work and technological developments, the customization of customer demands provide the opportunity for individual work for the employees. However, unionization is expected to be adversely affected by this situation. The aim of the study is to understand Industry 4.0 and its components, to examine its effects on business life, to present opinions about new jobs. It is to open up the workforce and unionization rates, the importance of unions for the employee, what they need to do to become a stronger and more reliable structure and increase the number of members. Implications were also shared in the conclusions and recommendations.
