Abstract

Starting from the humankind’s basic need for shelter, via making continuous progress, construction industry is shaping quality of life and welfare of societies and has reached its today’s level. Turkish construction industry has also a key economic position with its contributions to Turkish economy and Turkish citizen’s welfare. The purpose of this study is to show how supply chain and logistics applied in construction industry to engage attention of researchers and contribute Turkish literature which have limited number of studies about this subject. In this regard secondary data such as scientific literature and industry reports examined and as well as primary data collected from four experts working as executives in construction industry. To summarize the findings of the research: according to experts in their firms planning of logistics and supply chain operations are not given enough attention, logistics techniques are not effectively applied and lack of communication coordination are faced among supply chain actors.
